How Taylor Made Clubs came to be!

Taylor Made clubs were first made in the 1970's by golf fan Gary Adams. Adams was spending a lot of time and effort on the golf course trying to improve his game, but was annoyed at the conventional wooden clubs that was used then. After quite some time thinking about what alternatives might be found, he came up with the metal wood. Adams released his metal wood at the 1979 PGA. Sadly it didn't take off as expected. In order to convince golfers to buy the new metal club, Adams managed to convince 47 professional golfers to use his metal club at that years PGA Tour. After seeing this new state-of-the-art club being employed by so many pros, interest grew and sales began to sore, and by 1983, metal was the preferred material for clubs.

After the initial success with the metal wood, Taylor Made clubs fell behind the remainder of the competition because of a lack of new innovative ideas to keep the metal wood at the cutting edge. There had been more metal woods available on the market from already well established golf manufacturers, and Taylor Made no longer stood out from the crowd. in the mid nineties, the Burner Bubble driver was introduced. This used a cutting edge shaft which helped golfers swing quicker without any of the extra effort required with standard drivers. This product firmly set Taylor Made on the golf worlds map.

Today, it is one of the Golf industries unchallenged leaders in golfing equipment manufacturing and cutting edge design. They reign supreme over all the competitive golf tournaments, including the PGA due to their experience, with their drivers and golf green woods being the club of choice for a big number of professionals. However due to their vast product, offering a variety of clubs for golfers of all talent levels, Taylor Made clubs are just as favored by beginner golf players as they are by the Pro's.

In 1997, Taylor Made was purchased by Adidas to form TaylorMade-Adidas golfing. This move helped to make them one of the largest golfing club makers in the world as both corporations were amongst the most innovative in their various fields. An indication of the success of the two firms coming together can be seen in their production of their golfing attire range. This incorporates the development of their 'Climacool' performance fabrics used in golf attire, and the '3d fit foam' in their range of shoes. Taylor Made have also added golfing bags, stands and balls to their already in depth range of products. But remaining true to their roots of golf club innovation, Taylor Made recently introduced Moveable Weight Technology in their golf clubs, as well as their new Rescue club which has become a big hit.

Taylor Made golfing clubs started as one product created by an entrepreneurial fan of the game. But after taking a more business minded approach to the product, as well as continuous development of new designs and ideas, Taylor Made has changed into one of the biggest names in the golf world. Their track record of success and accelerating sales, coupled with their wish to develop new products, has guaranteed that Taylor Made will be around for a very long time to come.
